Stamped & Decorative Concrete
Decorative stamped concrete that mimics natural stone, brick, and tile — beautiful, durable, and more affordable than the real thing.
Stamped concrete gives you the look of natural stone, brick, slate, or tile at a fraction of the cost. JZ Development installs stamped concrete patios, driveways, walkways, and pool decks across Long Island with patterns and colors that complement any home style.
Our stamped concrete process starts with a properly prepared and poured concrete slab. While the concrete is still wet, we apply color hardener and release agents, then press detailed texture mats into the surface to create realistic stone, brick, or tile patterns. The result is a seamless, durable surface with the appearance of premium materials.
We offer dozens of stamp patterns including ashlar slate, cobblestone, flagstone, brick herringbone, wood plank, and more. Colors can be customized with integral color, surface hardener, and antiquing release to achieve the exact look you want. We also apply high-quality sealers for UV protection and enhanced color.
Stamped concrete is ideal for homeowners who love the look of natural stone but want a more budget-friendly option. It's also a great choice for large areas where the cost of individual pavers would be prohibitive.

Frequently Asked Questions
How much does stamped concrete cost on Long Island?
Stamped concrete on Long Island typically costs $12-$25 per square foot, depending on pattern complexity and the number of colors. A basic single-pattern, single-color job runs $12-$16/sq ft. Multi-color designs with borders and complex patterns can reach $20-$25/sq ft. A typical 400 sq ft stamped patio costs $5,000-$10,000.
Is stamped concrete durable on Long Island?
Yes, when installed properly with adequate thickness, reinforcement, and sealing. Stamped concrete can last 25+ years on Long Island. The main maintenance requirement is resealing every 2-3 years to protect the color and surface from UV damage and salt exposure. We provide care instructions with every installation.
Does stamped concrete crack?
All concrete can crack — it's the nature of the material. We minimize cracking with proper base preparation, adequate thickness (typically 4-6 inches), steel reinforcement, and strategically placed control joints. Control joints are designed into the pattern so they're virtually invisible. Small hairline cracks are normal and don't affect the integrity of the surface.
Stamped concrete vs. pavers — which is better?
Both are excellent options. Stamped concrete is typically 20-30% less expensive than pavers and creates a seamless surface. Pavers offer easier repairability (replace individual units) and better freeze-thaw flexibility. Stamped concrete requires periodic resealing; pavers may need occasional joint sand replenishment. We install both and can help you decide.
